Aare-Netz

With the Aare Network, the first integrated care region of Swiss Medical Network in German-speaking Switzerland is being established in the Zofingen area and the neighbouring parts of the cantons of Lucerne and Solothurn.

The Aare Network care region includes, in addition to Zofingen Hospital, the private clinic Villa im Park in Rothrist as well as the Xundheitszentren in Beromünster, Egerkingen and Reinach. Together, these sites form the basis for coordinated, local and high-quality healthcare provision. The focus is on short distances, close collaboration between all healthcare providers and the development of a strong regional care structure. In future, further medical providers from the region will also be integrated into the Aare Network.

Our vision of integrated care

The Aare Network is committed to integrated care. This means the focus is not on isolated individual services, but on close collaboration between all stakeholders along the care pathway.

GP practices, hospitals and other medical partners such as physiotherapists and radiologists work together in a regional network with the aim of supporting people efficiently and personally, both in prevention and in times of illness.

Our Aare Network

The Aare Network brings together regional healthcare providers from both the outpatient and inpatient sectors – including Zofingen Hospital, the private clinic Villa im Park, as well as several medical centres.

All sites work closely together to ensure coordinated care and a seamless treatment pathway. Additional partners such as GP practices, pharmacies and home care services will be integrated step by step.

The VIVA Health Plan

On 1 January 2026, the VIVA Health Plan will be introduced within the Aare Network. The VIVA insurance product was developed in collaboration with Visana and offers its members coordinated and integrated care.

At its core are six concrete commitments to policyholders: guaranteed access to a GP, free personalised prevention, coordinated support for chronic conditions, 24/7 advice via a medical hotline, stable premiums, and a dedicated contact person.

The interaction between integrated care and VIVA

The core element of integrated care is coordination and communication. VIVA focuses on personal guidance provided by specially trained VIVA health coordinators, who ensure orientation, simplified processes and a seamless flow of information along the care pathway. This networking prevents duplicate treatments and false incentives, ensuring high-quality care while simultaneously reducing costs.
